The complaints are the same, only the names and faces of the consultants have changed. "No one wants to book parties." "I can't find anyone who wants to sell!" "I can't find anyone that is interested!" "This is too hard!" "I'll never make it to leader."

If you are a leader with a Direct Selling company you've probably heard this from your downline. If you are a consultant you've probably had these thoughts or voiced these concerns to your upline.

Of all the things you can do to "increase your chance for failing" having a negative attitude is number one on the list. The problem is, when we focus on what we don't want to happen, we are actually creating the environment to continue more of the same thing. Come on, you know what I'm talking about. We become what we think about every day. If we consistently think that we can't book any parties, WE WON'T BOOK ANY PARTIES! If we consistently think it's hard to sponsor, IT WILL BE HARD TO SPONSOR!

So, can changing your thinking really change the outcome. Yes and No! Changing your thinking cannot change the outcome all by itself. You need to change your thinking as well as change your habits to change the outcome.

Here are a few ideas that can help you change your life to have successful outcomes. Take a notebook and draw a line down the center of the page. At the top of the column write Positive on one half and Negative on the other half. Then every day for a week, write down everything that comes into your thoughts under one of the columns. At the end of the week take a serious look at what you have been thinking about for the week. If you have over 50 percent of your thoughts on the negative side you are sabotaging yourself. Now, I'm not a "Pollyanna" (OK, maybe I am) and I know that all of us have some negative thoughts once in awhile but we need to make sure that there are two to three times more positive thought than negative to create an environment for change.

If you haven't already passed out from the shock of the previous exercise then it is time to take what we have learned and create an environment to change. It often takes an action to become "aware of the negative thought" and immediately replace it with a positive thought!

I practiced a technique that I learned from Mark Victor Hansen in "The One Minute Millionaire" that involved having a rubber band on your wrist. Every time you have a negative thought you snap the rubber band and replace the thought with a positive one. Your goal is to go a week without snapping the rubber band. Trust me, this is not easy. We are often pre-conditioned to think of the worst rather than the best possible outcome. Do something each day for a week that will include consciously changing your negative thoughts to positive ones. Think of yourself as already being the person you want to become. If you are looking to move to a leadership position with your company, put the vision in your head. If you would look and act differently make sure you include this mental picture of what you would look like into your vision.

After two to four weeks of training your brain to think positively rather than negatively, it's time to begin DOING things that will change the outcome. Remember, it's not just enough to change your thoughts, you also need to change your actions. If you've been thinking to yourself, "No one wants to have a party" and you've changed your thoughts to "everyone I meet is interested in my product and the opportunity to earn some by hosting a party", you will begin to act differently when you come in contact with people. Instead of avoiding people and being afraid to call you will be anxious to share with prospects and find a way that will be a "win-win" situation for everyone.

Refrain from returning to your "old bad thoughts and bad habits". It takes at least 21 days to create a new habit. I have been walking 3 miles every Monday through Friday morning for over 20 years and yet last winter when the weather was bad and I skipped a few weeks of walking I found that it took me about 3 weeks to get back into the habit.

Become persistent at having positive thoughts and actions and try not to let anything or anyone get in your way. Continually replace negative thoughts and actions with positive thoughts and actions and you will notice the difference within a few weeks. As Mark Victor Hansen states in "The One Minute Millionaire", control your thinking and you will control your behavior, control your behavior and you will control your results. It all begins with you!!!

Control Your Situation Using Positive Thinking

Life Strategies For Helping You Help Yourself

The power of positive thinking is undeniable.

Every once in a while, everyone becomes distracted, unfocused, and disheartened, especially when it seems that nothing is going your way. Now, you could let your mood and the events around you dictate how you respond and make a seemingly bad day worse, or you could harness the power of positive thinking and demand that the negative emotions you are experiencing relinquish control over your life.

I will be the first to admit that it is much easier to tell someone that thinking positive will help in a less than ideal situation than it is to actually get that individual to believe and cooperate. There have been times in my life, and maybe some of your lives too, when I did not know where the next meal was coming from or if I would return home to a cold dark house, because I could not afford the utility bill.

There are far more people just barely "making it" than we would like to believe, and this is why we should practice positive thinking on a daily basis. It is about controlling your situation instead of allowing your situation to control you. When we implement a routine of daily positive thinking in our lives, we enable ourselves to mentally rise above our immediate situations. This is the first step towards actually unleashing the power of positive thought in our lives.

Once your subconscious mind becomes receptive to the practice of daily positive thinking (and believe me, there will be some resistance at first), you become more fully able to accept that you are worthy of better in life and begin to attract more positive outcomes than negative in your day to day living.

If it is difficult for you at first to allow the power of positive thinking in your life, start small. After all, you have to crawl before you can walk. Make a conscious effort to search out and look for the positive in every situation. Sometimes, depending on the situation, this may be darn near impossible, but try anyway.

Make a habit of stopping to reflect on all the positive things that happen in your life daily. It may even be a good idea to keep a journal; so that whenever you are feeling down, you can pick up your journal, read it, and reflect on the positive thoughts that you have written. Remember, it all starts with just one small step.

    Anamchara - Beyond Positive Thinking

Life Strategies For Helping You Help Yourself

One of the most well known books ever written on success is James Allan’s “As a man thinketh.”

This book advocates thinking in a positive manner in order to create the life you dream of having. It suggests all you have to do is change your internal dialogue and you can begin to adopt a successful mind set. After an unspecified time you will then “have it all.”

For some this approach has undoubtedly worked.

For many others it has manifestly not done so. There are more books written and read on positive thinking than on most any other subject. This has made some difference to people’s lives but real change has not manifested for too many others.

I think this is because the writing of James Allen has been understood only at a surface level. In his wonderful book “As a man thinketh,” he writes: -

“As a man thinketh in his heart so is he, not only embraces the whole of a mans being, but is so comprehensive as to reach out to every condition and circumstance.”

    Note the language.

It is a form of language you do not hear in today’s personal growth market. I think this is why it is not so well understood. James Allen clearly states, “As a man thinketh in his heart…” He is, to my mind, talking about clearly making an emotional connection with one’s heart.

This is where all positive change begins.

The heart speaks to one’s being and not only to the intellect. The intellect is only a part of the wholeness of our humanity. Thinking positive thoughts can go some way to creating a wonderful experience of what it means to be alive. However, being alive is not just an intellectual experience. It is a when fully allowed a free flowing experience of delight.

The heart knows things that the head can never imagine.

The heart embraces the imagination. James Allen uses the word “embrace” in the above passage. The mind does not embrace. It rationalises. The mind operates in a linear fashion. It moves from point A to point B. An embrace is something that encircles you. A circle is complete it is not something that is partial. A circle is more holistic.

James Allen goes on to say that this “thinketh of the heart” is so comprehensive it affects all conditions and circumstances. It is in effect transformative. It changes ones relationship to life and living.

I personally think James Allan would have been better naming his wonderful book “As a man feels.” This I think would guide many others to the experience of “embracing a man’s being. It would more clearly focus one on the free flow of feeling within the body allied to ones purpose and values.

This connection with your purpose and values at the heart level raises passion. This is the real power that will “reach out to every condition and circumstance.” This will be a warmer and more powerful experience than the cool application of simply repeating positive words and phrases.

Remember you are already forever enough no matter how much positive thinking you may apply to your being. Remember that the Blessing is already here and you are it.

Thinking is something through which we distinguish from the non human or animal behaviors. The Psycho analysis of all the beings of the earth shows distinctly that the sense of thinking is important for the rational behavior. Attitude forms an important part whereas thinking contributes lot to the attitude. Sometimes the thinking, itself can prove us to an animal behavior. That is where we find the negative thoughts coming in. The insane qualities are product of negative thinking.

But then, what is that keeping fewer beings to march forward and go on and on? Understand the magic; it is nothing but positive thinking. Specificity of being positive in certain thoughts can be a key to the best optimistic approach. A motivational speaker gives you a lot of insight about the positive thinking, but what helps you to stay positive? It is being specific to the lifestyle that the keynote speaker gives you. Ultimately it turns to you and your decision.

Our usual misconceptions about positive thinking are that money will drop out of the sky; GOD will come on a chariot to take away the sufferings and pains and lot more imaginations. But positive thinking is not that, which eventually can lead you to that level. In order to acquire the great status of positive thinking, we must realize what positive thinking is all about and what it is not! The stepping towards every small step that you want to achieve will carry you to the optimistic world. Believe that the knowledge of "positive thinking" will help you in having it as your tool to reach your own skies. The very feel of positive thinking itself will help you to feel confident and move towards it. This attitude helps us be a lot more fun to be with.

    The Real Power Of Affirmation

Life Strategies For Helping You Help Yourself

    >>  Click Here To Discover How You Can Create The Life You Want <<

The following article is one of a series of articles which focus on Personal Development, Self Improvement, Motivation and Empowerment. It is based on research done over twenty years as a personal and business coach. This self improvement article was written in response to questions which I have been asked as well as address common challenges that people have with this subject and all aspects of personal development.I sincerely hope that you find the following information of value.

    The Real Power Of Affirmation

"I am, therefore I exist," is a phrase affirming one's existence as a being. It may be a simple phrase, but it says everything about the being saying them. It indicates a confidence not commonly found among other beings.

But why do people need affirmation? Why do beings need to be affirmed? Is existence relative to one's affirmation?

Affirmation is a very powerful technique to empower one's subconscious. Once the subconscious is disciplined to believe one's affirmation, the latter is converted into a positive action for the conscious mind. Through affirmation, beings are empowered to do, to work, and to strive for more things. Affirmation allows people to believe in themselves and to put their thoughts into action.

Affirmation is a combination of verbal and visual techniques of a preferred state of mind of a person. Strong affirmations can be very powerful, and can be used by almost anyone to achieve his goals and fulfill his desires. However, the power of an affirmation depends on how strong or weak an affirmation is.

Affirmation is merely an assertion made by a person, about something or about a state of being. A person can affirm those that he chooses to attain, like "I now have a good life." Being healthy in mind, body, and spirit can also be made possible through affirmation.

A strong affirmation should be stated in the present tense to be more effective. An affirmation of "I am now a happy being" is more effective than an affirmation saying, "I am going to become a happy being." Affirmation should always be in positive terms because it is supposed to work for you and not against you. Instead of saying, "I am not sad," why not make an affirmation saying, "I am happy."

When it comes to the subject of self improvement, I fully understand (through my own experiences) that it is a lot easier said than done. However, you are here, right now, because you have a desire to improve your self or you are at least interested in this subject. Perhaps you are reading this to help a friend or colleague - great. If this article helps you or your help a friend, paying it forward is what life all about so we all win.

An affirmation should be made up of simple but concise words, and it should be short to be more effective. A very long affirmation can work the other way around, instead of creating a positive mindset for a person. A short affirmation can be easily spoken and repeated by a person. It can serve as a mantra that can be repeated over and over again.

To be effective, an affirmation must be repeated. Repetition works and influences the subconscious, which in turn motivates the person into acting out his affirmation. A person who creates the affirmation should be deeply involved with the words he will be using, so he will be able to actualize his affirmation. Writing words that one believes in can be very powerful, and this can be put to good use when creating an affirmation.

However, creating an affirmation alone and repeating them a million times would not make the affirmation a state of mind. The important thing is to live one's affirmation and to be open-minded enough to do the things that would help the affirmation become a reality. Feeling the affirmation and applying it in one's life will help in making the affirmation a reality.

While affirmation is generally used to make an individual better, it can also be used to boost or confirm another person's value. By affirming another person's existence, you are helping him improve his self-worth.

Affirmation is a very simple thing that can make a very big difference in a person's life. It can be a great motivator and can make things happen.

    NOW is the time!

O.K. you have read the article. Now is the time for action. Without action, this article adds no value whatsoever to your self improvement. But remember, without action, you cannot blame this self improvement article or any article for that matter. So, take action NOW.

Even if only one piece of advice, one piece of information, one tip makes a difference, then the whole article has been worth it for all of us. NOW is the time!
